Six new colleagues and a great deal of insight into various target groups have resulted in the cooperation between Dutchwebshark and BKR so far. BKR is known to many because of its credit registration, but this foundation offers much more. It is an innovative and data-driven organisation with an inspiring dream: to create a financially healthy world.

Your analyses supported my assumptions. Besides, the result speaks for itself: we have already hired six new colleagues.

BKR also contributes to this mission with other services, such as fraud prevention and early detection of debts. This is a nice interface with Dutchwebshark, where insight into the target group forms the basis of all our services. Since 2017, we have been using these services to connect professionals to BKR.

We interviewed Mariska Schoots who is a Human Resources policy officer at BKR. She has been working there for 12 years now and has been one of the people working in partnership with Dutchwebshark.

Mariska: “BKR employs 115 people including 100 FTEs. Staff turnover in 2017 was 14% and in recent years, BKR has evolved from an administrative organisation into a knowledge-intensive organisation. As a result, the number of analysts (including data analysts) is growing.”

“In the first instance, we try to fill these vacancies ourselves, for example via our work-site or our own network. If this is not possible, we call in for help. At first, we would usually use traditional recruitment and selection agencies, but since May of last year, we started our partnership with Dutchwebshark.”

“Sander Mortel, one of your sales managers, came to us at just the right time. HR Analytics was a subject that was in the start-up phase with us. In addition, we saw a change in recruitment and selection. It became more and more difficult to find the right profile, even when we changed recruitment agencies. I don’t want to say that they presented less good professionals, but the candidates were always not quite what we wanted.”

“We felt that we shouldn’t be satisfied with this and then Sander came in and told us the story of Dutchwebshark, and this really appealed to us. First of all, we started a pilot project with a vacancy that we were not able to fill ourselves. First of all they gave us a Vacancy Market Analysis (VMA) which has a lot of insight into the target group, and this triggered us to cross check exactly what we were looking for. You showed that this profile did not actually exist in one person!”

“I had already indicated this on the basis of my own experience, but the practice did indicate that I needed this profile. The nice thing was that your analysis supported my suspicion and that awareness has now spread to the rest of the organisation. It has helped the team manager to clearly distinguish between the main issues and the secondary issues. In the end, you successfully filled the vacancy.”

You show what the market looks like and this serves as a basis for a good discussion about the profile, the feasibility of the project and it helps to manage expectations. We also even have the research carried out sometimes when we do not have a specific vacancy. This gives us an indication of what to expect should a vacancy arise and as HR professionals, we need to always know what the market is like.”

“At the beginning, the preparation of this analysis takes a little more time. This is because before we actually start the search, you make the VMA, we then have a kick-off and I check the first profiles you provide. But on the other hand, once we get going, your process is actually faster. Previously, we would often speak to several candidates and not find the right one, but with Dutchwebshark we will regularly find the right candidate in a number of interviews. For me, that’s your strength! Invest a little more time in the beginning to achieve faster and better results in the end.”

“And the results are certainly there! We have already hired six colleagues through you. After the pilot which was a vacancy for an information analyst, we found a system administrator, a senior call center employee and a compliance officer through you. We are therefore deploying you to more and more business units, and at the moment there are still four projects in progress.”

“When we speak to professionals, we often notice that we still have a old and dusty image. This picture is incorrect, a great deal is happening here and we are working on many innovations. We’ve been changing this for some time now, but it’s not just any old thing.”

“That’s also one of the reasons why we started a talent pool with you. This pool includes professionals who are interested in BKR, but who are still, for example, in a traineeship or a secondment agency. They do want to stay in touch, so that we can perhaps work together in the future. The pool offers us the opportunity to further introduce these professionals to BKR. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to find the right people and the fact that there are professionals already interested in the talent pool speeds up the process when we have a new vacancy.”
